Senior Model Contest Round #1

Special Events

Special events need to be remembered. These sweet girls, (yes one is my daughter) were celebrating their baptisms. What better way to remember this special day than with pictures.

For me, as Kiara's mother, I wanted it not only to be a remembrance of that day but a reminder of the importance of baptism and the promise that she made to follow our Savior, Jesus. I am so proud of her and the decision she made to be baptized.

Emily is a friend of Kiara's and we took a day and went shopping for these special dresses. The girls, along with another friend, tried on many dresses. When we arrived at the store I walked over to the white dresses and told Kiara to pick out a few to try on. She surprised me and said that she already knew what dress she wanted, when I asked which one she said "The same one Savannah was buried in." I cried and told her if we could find it, she could have it. I wasn't hopeful that we would find it since we bought Savannah's dress 2 years ago. We found it a size to big on a clearance rack. We bought it and had Lucy at Carousel Bridal in Jay alter it for us. It fit perfect!

Senior Pictures Already!!

It's crazy to think that we photographers are already thinking about Senior Pictures for the Class of 2011 but it is true! I am looking for a few high school juniors who are interested in becoming spokesmodels for the Class of 2011. There are amazing benefits to being a spokesmodel!! Save a Smile!

My hero's, Savannah and Embree

In honor of one of my greatest hero's, my niece Embree, for the month of October half of all Family Portrait Session will be donated to Operation Smile. Operation Smile funds surgeries for children born with Cleft lips and Cleft palates.

At the age of 3 Embree has already undergone numerous surgeries and still has many more to do!

Latest project!

I was commissioned by Boston Culinary Group to rephotograph some older pictures of Sugarloaf. They wanted to redecorate the Double Diamond. So I photographed about 15 pictures and restored some that had rips and tears in them. We printed them, and framed them. Marie and I went up Friday morning to put them on the walls. We hung 10 pictures altogether. I am really pleased with how they came out, the frames were gorgeous. It was the first time I ordered from this framing company and I have to say that I am really pleased with them.

Friday evening was the Franklin County Relay for Life. We were a part of the Princess Savannah's Court team. If you have never been, let me give you a little background on this picture. At 10 pm they turn all of the lights off and around the track are about 1000 luminary bags. Each bag has someones name either In Memory of... or In Honor of.... They then proceed to read a list of names, first the list of non-survivors and then the list of survivors. We sat on the track next to Savannah's and listened as they read her name, "In Memory of Savannah Hurley."

I wanted to capture a picture that showed the beauty of all of the luminary bags, this is the one I liked the most.

I did ok most of the evening, the part I had the hardest time with was when the survivors took their lap around the track. Also, there was one woman I noticed who was obviously going through treatment, her head was bald. Seeing her bald head put tears in my eyes.

Get it while it's HOT!

As dance recital season settles down for me it is time to put my focus on other things. So any High School Senior Sitting between June 1-June 30th will receive a credit to their order for the sitting fee amount. Book your appointment soon, time slots fill quickly! Especially at the end of the month!
